Small. Private. Specialized.

Hand Therapy of Capitola is a small, private and specialized therapy clinic in Capitola, Santa Cruz – founded in 2024.

After scheduling your first appointment with us, we’ll conduct a comprehensive assessment of pain, injury, or the specific problem you may be having and develop a treatment plan specific to your needs. This may include a customized hand orthotic, individualized home program, manual therapy, strengthening, recommendations for daily living activity modifications, assistive devices, or ergonomic recommendations for work or play.

Our approach is individualized, compassionate, holistic and healing.

At Hand Therapy of Capitola you receive one-on-one care with your therapist. You are not double booked with another patient, and you do not see an aide or tech for your treatment.

“Kerri’s professionalism and thoroughness is impressive but I am more pleased with my progress! She is patient and kind and so knowledgeable. She explained what I realistically could expect and she exceeded that with my  therapy. I  recommend her and her practice whole-heartedly!”

What is a CHT?

To obtain the advanced certification and be designated as a certified hand therapist (CHT), a rigorous certification exam must be passed that shows the candidate meets and demonstrates competency in the practice of hand therapy.

To sit for this exam to become a CHT, the therapist must practice a minimum of three years and accumulate at least 4,000 hours of clinically supervised treatment in hand and upper extremity disorders.

Maintaining an active CHT certification requires continued  professional development, coursework  and competency, recertifying every 5 years.
